Color correction advice, plz [Jun. 3rd, 2007|03:23 pm]

Any ideas on how to correct this? No matter what I tried, I couldn't get both halves to scan the same. Oh, and it's thumbnailed. Click to enlarge.

As near as I can ascertain... [May. 6th, 2007|12:16 am]

[mood |crankycranky]

Adobe has dropped Image Ready.

They have to have something to replace it, the question is what? And how long is it going to take to figure out how to use the damn thing.

I am not happy.

And yes, I know, I can still use Image Ready CS2 but that's a pain in the ass because it isn't linked to Photoshop CS3.

Snowflakes [Jan. 22nd, 2007|12:20 pm]

You know, I could be wrong or maybe just possess of extremely poor taste, but it strikes me that these would make good brushes.

Photoshop help please! [Jan. 7th, 2007|04:44 pm]

This is a scan, so it's very big. Just click on the thumbnail to see what I'm talking about.

Okay, if you look carefully, you can see how text on the back of the page has bled through the picture (on his chest). FYI - this is magazine clipping. Try as I might, I can't seem to prevent this from happening when I scan. Is there a quick way to get photoshop to remove those shadows without having to bothering with a mess of clone stamping and spot healing?

To be honest, it's less noticeable in the JPG then it is on the TIFF, but since I prefer to make icons from the TIFF, I would really like to know if there is an answer to this problem.

Duh! *head desk* [Nov. 8th, 2006|08:11 pm]

Oh sweet Jesus! Here I've been fusing separate scans together for over a week, and tonight I discover that Adobe CS2 will do it for me at the click of a button.

Hardly better then I could, I have to say, but still....All I was doing was trying to figure out how to clear Photoshop's cache and there it was: Photomerge.

I love it when Photoshop hands me these surprises, especially when it's a new toy.

PS - please excuse the icon. I haven't had time to remake it yet.

(no subject) [Oct. 9th, 2006|07:15 pm]

funkycanuck insisted I post this here. I did my first banner. Well, my first multi-layer, mess with opacity, desaturate, insert haze effects from another picture and all that jazz banner. It's not particularly complicated, but I am rather proud of the results. It's for a friend's community.

Help! [Sep. 17th, 2006|11:30 am]

I need to know what font Rolling Stone uses for its headlines. Desperately.

Here's the link: warning! click at your peril!

I really want to know what font that is. It's similar to walbaum, but the W is all wrong. I have the font for the magazine title, I need the one they use for the captions. Any ideas?

It's been a hoot [Sep. 13th, 2006|08:19 pm]

So I've been experimenting more with the eraser tool, magic wand tool, colour saturation (I think that's what it is), and making my own backgrounds.

Oh yes, on a brighter note, someone took three of my icons I posted at glamrockicons.  Woot!  That made me grin since I was wondering if they screamed amateur.

the debate is on.

I recently joined motleycrueicons, and while visiting that community, stumbled across glamrockicons, which I also joined.  I did some Crue icons but was debating on whether they're good enough to post, 'cause I don't wanna get laughed out of the communities.  These are the ones I made so far.  Was gonna make a few more tonight after work.

That is all.  I hope you're having a great day.

Fun with Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 [Aug. 23rd, 2006|12:20 pm]

Did you ever start out following a tutorial and then realized it gave you "ideas" that sent you off in another direction?  I find tutorials help me understand just what the "tools" can do, things I never thought of before.

So I had to experiment.

Moving on to project number two...

That is all.  Has been mucho fun "learning."  Heh
